Why Extra Strength CBD Oil?
Our previous video on making CBD oil was the second most viewed video on our channel. Although we received positive feedback, many viewers were keen on discovering how they could maximize the benefits of CBD in their oil. This video aims to satisfy this curiosity.

Ingredients for Extra Strenght CBD Oil
Creating the extra strength CBD oil involves one additional step to the standard CBD oil making process. Here, we will use hemp flower from our farm, specifically the cherry wine variant. This fast-selling strain contains exactly the amount of CBD we require.
What makes the difference- Lecithin
The secret ingredient in this process is lecithin. MCT oil has a maximum absorption rate, meaning that it cannot absorb all the CBD the flowers offer, even vice versa. This is where lecithin comes in. It contains the necessary elements to absorb more cannabinoids.
There are several types of lecithin on the market. These include soy lecithin (available in granular and liquid form) and sunflower lecithin (also available in granular and liquid form). For this recipe, we will use the sunflower lecithin available in liquid form.
The Cooking Process
To get started, we need to decarb our flour. For this guide, we will be using 28 grams of CBD flour and two cups of MCT oil. This ratio translates to approximately 14 grams of flour per cup.
While it is possible to alter this amount based on your preferred potency, we recommend sticking with the maximum quantity for this recipe. By doing so, you can optimize the absorption rate of the oil and lecithin.
We will decarb our cherry wine flour in an oven, set at 250 degrees, for approximately 30 minutes. Once decarbed, we will transfer the flour into the Magic Butter machine.
Holding a special spot on our fan-favorite list, the Magic Butter machine is instrumental to this process and makes the process far more manageable. After adding the MCT oil, it’s time to include our secret ingredient.
Adding the Lecithin
The quantity of lecithin you add really depends on your preference. Our advice is not to exceed two tablespoons per cup, meaning that our recipe would require a maximum of four tablespoons of lecithin. For balance, we will add three tablespoons to our mixture.
The process of adding the lecithin can be quite slow and meticulous due to its syrupy texture. However, the outcome is well worth the patience.
Upon the addition of lecithin, it’s time to fire up our Magic Butter machine. We will set the temperature at 160 and the timer for four hours.
The Final Product
After four hours, we will be greeted by our extra strength CBD oil. The oil will be darker compared to traditional CBD oil due to the sunflower lecithin added. However, this does not affect the flavor in any way.
We can then transfer the oil back to the MCT bottle which, aside from being handy, also allows us to use measurement tools throughout the process.
